What the FCC says about models already on sale
Stores can keep selling models the FCC approved before July 28, 2026. “Nor does it prevent retailers from continuing to sell, import, or market relevant models approved previously through the FCC’s equipment authorization process.” FCC fact sheet
If you already own a Roborock, keep using it. “This action does not affect any previously purchased devices.” FCC fact sheet Models approved before the rule can keep getting software and firmware updates until at least January 1, 2029. “All advanced robotic devices and power inverters authorized for use in the United States may continue to receive software and firmware updates that mitigate harm to U.S. consumers at least until January 1, 2029.” FCC Public Notice DA 26-789

Will my Roborock still get app and firmware updates?
Yes, for now. The FCC waived its ban on changes for models it approved before July 28, 2026, so they can keep getting software and firmware updates, including security patches, until at least January 1, 2029.
Is the FCC rule a recall of Roborock robots?
