Is a Roomba still a safe buy?
Yes, by iRobot’s own account. On December 14, 2025, iRobot announced that Picea, its secured lender and key supplier, would buy it through a court-supervised restructuring (iRobot). It said the app and product support would keep working (iRobot).
The sale closed on January 23, 2026: Picea now owns all of iRobot (iRobot). iRobot says it keeps US customer data apart from its new owner (iRobot).
iRobot keeps launching Roombas. It began selling the Plus 415, 515 and 575 and the Max 715 and 775 in July 2026 (iRobot), and the Max 875 Combo in September 2026 (iRobot).
So the choice is about price and features, not whether Roombas keep working. That is what the list above compares.
How we matched them
For each Roomba Amazon sold new on November 2, 2026, we listed every feature iRobot publishes for it. A robot from another brand counts as a match only if its maker publishes every one of those features, and Amazon sold it for less that same day.
The features: a self-emptying dock; the mop (a roller mop matches only a roller mop; spinning pads beat a flat pad); a dock that washes the mop; warm or hot air mop drying; a laser map; obstacle avoidance that recognizes objects; an anti-tangle brush; and the highest door strip it climbs. A feature the maker does not publish does not count, so a robot can miss a match on paperwork alone. We say which feature in the table.
We do not compare suction, because iRobot does not publish it for most Roombas. We compare makers’ published figures; we do not test robots. Price plays no part in a match.
